Home-grown Strategies for Global Success
The World Economic Forum on the Middle East, the region’s foremost gathering of government, business and civil society leaders, will take place on 15-17 May 2009 at the Dead Sea, Jordan.
Under the theme “Home-grown Strategies for Global Success”, the meeting will focus on the role of the Middle East in addressing critical global challenges, ranging from systemic financial risk to resource management and political extremism.
The Middle East’s growing aspirations will be assessed in the context of progress along the region’s major fault lines and viewed with respect to foreign policy implications of several elections around the world.
For the first time, the meeting will bring together leading scientists from the region and the diaspora to engage decision-makers in a dialogue on a forward-looking agenda for science and research in the Middle East.
