The presentation of Arabia-EXPO - the first Arab exhibition in Moscow, which will take place on October, 22-24, 2008, was delivered in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, on the 10th of September, 2007, during the Russian-Emirati Business Forum. Tatiana Gvilava, Director of the Russian-Arab Business Council, announced in her speech that this exhibition will become annual and will embrace all Arab states interested in closer economic ties with Russian partners.

After that the participants of the Forum were shown the video presentation of the Exhibition. The launch of the official site of Arabia-EXPO (www.arabia-expo.info) was also timed to the Business Forum.

The decision to hold the Exhibition was taken by the Russian part of the Russian-Arab Business Council as the implementation of the initiative launched by the Arab part of RABC during the Sixth Joint Session of the Council in St.Petersburg in September, 2006.

Arabia-EXPO will be organized with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Russian Government and the ministries and institutions involved, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Federal Agency for Water Resources, and the management of a number of regions of Russia.

The Exhibition will be held in the modern international exhibition centre Crocus EXPO, which meets the top international standards. Its core business is holding large international exhibitions with the participation of Russian and foreign companies. The exhibition centre attracts the attention of the organizations coordinating the development of exhibition and trade fair activities in Russia. The centre has two pavilions, eleven show rooms, thirteen conference halls and nine negotiation rooms. Crocus EXPO has a very well developed infrastructure and advanced security systems.

Arabia-EXPO exhibition is aimed at the restoration of the economic ties in the spheres of the mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and the Arab countries, defining joint investment projects and negotiations for the promotion of their products and services. Besides, the Exhibition is designed to set up contacts and relations between Russian and Arab associations of businessmen, chambers of commerce and industry, commercial, economic and financial structures at the regional level. The agenda of the Exhibition envisages an interesting cultural programme.
