Kuwait plans to have fewer foreign workers
7:38 AM
Kuwait is trying to reduce the number of foreign workers in the country by stopping hiring them in the public sector. The government of Kuwait has developed a 5-year plan that is aimed at improving the living standards in Kuwait, Arabian Business reports. The plan aims to improve the situation in the education, employment and housing. There will soon be more jobs in the private sector for the local citizens and the number of foreign workers in the public sector will be lowered to 8000 from 15000. Apart from this, the plan envisages longer school hours, privatization of over 30 schools and organization of independent universities. In order to meet high demand for health care services, there are plans to build more medical centers and hospitals.
