Dubai, 29/09/2011. In Saudi Arabia alone around 800,000 barrels of oil are burned per day to cover the needs of domestic power consumption. By using solar energy oil reserves can be saved to be sold instead on world markets. That's why more and more countries in the Middle East are looking to this form of renewable energy. On 26 and 27 October 2011 the conference "Solar Investment Summit - Middle East 2011" is being held in Dubai to provide practical expertise and the opportunity for exchange between international solar companies and investors from the region. Dwindling resources and increasing energy costs are moving more and more countries in the Middle East to use renewable energy sources. Solar energy in particular has great potential here. This is shown by, for example, the founding of the "Masdar Initiative" economic program for innovative technologies in Abu Dhabi and the plans in Saudi Arabia and Oman to supply entire towns completely from renewable energy. How solar energy can be successfully integrated into the business cycle and what technologies are best suited for the region - these issues will be the focus of the international Solar Investment Summit at the Novotel World Trade Centre in Dubai. Together with representatives from the United Arab Emirates government and experts including the Emirates Solar Industry Association, the National Technology Enterprises Company of Kuwait and the Kawar Group, the discussion will include the investment opportunities provided by solar energy in the Middle East, and the profitability of projects in the region. Organized by the Solarpraxis and Disctech, the event is aimed at private investors, banks, project developers, energy utilities, producers, analysts and professional associations. Some 200 participants will have the opportunity for specialist discussions at this international industry gathering, including a number of pre-arranged B2B meetings. The conference language will be English and there will be simultaneous translation into Arabic.
